John Reed Sr., Founder

Reed Tool & Die, Inc., was founded in 1971 when John Reed Sr. began operations in the basement of his residence. John apprenticed at Robertshaw Controls in 1941 working as a tool and die maker, in addition to being a precision grinder. In 1960 he moved into management as a manufacturing engineer and remained there until resigning to begin his own company. As the company expanded, a new building was constructed at its present location near Mt. Pleasant, Pennsylvania. John continued to be an active part of the business until his passing on April 28th 2013.

David Reed, President

In 1982, John's son David, at the time a mining engineer, joined the company and entered the tool and die training program. He received his journeyman papers after completing the training and is currently president of the company.

Brian Reed, Vice President

In 2013, David's son Brian began working for Reed Tool & Die, Inc. bringing on the third generation of family involvement. Brian received a degree in electronics technology and worked for ten years for Xerox. Brian makes all of the Solidworks drawings as well as ACAD and he will be learning all aspects of the business.
